Bible Brain Teaser
January 11, 2008My son brought this home from youth group the other day… I’ve seen similar things before, but not this particular one. I found them all in less than 20 minutes. But then again, I am a nerd. Try it yourself and see if you can find all 16… leave a comment to let me know how you do!
IN THE FOLLOWING STORY, THERE ARE SIXTEEN BOOKS OF THE BIBLE HIDDEN. CAN YOU FIND THEM ALL?
“I once made a remark about the hidden books of the Bible. It was a lulu, kept people looking so hard for facts and for others it was a revelation. Some were in a jam, especially since the names of the books were not capitalized, but the truth finally struck home to numbers of readers. To others it was a real job. We want it to be a most fascinating few moments for you. Yes, there will be some really easy ones to spot. Others may require judges to help them. I will quickly admit it usually takes a minister to find one of them, and there will be loud lamentations when it is found. A little lady says she brews a cup of tea, so she can concentrate better. See how well you can compete. Relax now, for there really are sixteen names of books in the Bible in this story.”
According to the footnote that went along with this game, one preacher found 15 books in 20 minutes, but it took him three weeks to find the last one. So don’t feel bad if it takes you a while!

Hi Laura – I printed out the story to make it easier to visualize and to put words together, and found 16 in 12 minutes. Guess I’m a bigger nerd.
Oh, that was HARD! My grandmother gave me and my mother that puzzle last time we visited, but we both solved it within half an hour because we were both so bound and determined not to lose, lol.
Fifteen found in twenty minutes – with great concentration – and then I gave up and resorted to looking at the answers. I wonder which one the minister couldn’t find. Thanks, Laura, for the brain cell stimulation.
